ABOUT ME
At the very core of me is a deep love for creating, be it writing, sewing, DIYing, painting, or anything else I can think to sink my teeth into. I'm always eager to learn new things and hone the skills that I already have. I approach most creatives things as puzzles to solve, but I'm not afraid of getting the "wrong" solution.

All great efforts require collaboration, which is why in my studies some of my main focuses were all things surrounding feedback. I've come to find that trust, openness, willingness to ask questions, and keeping up an open dialogue are crucial for successful interactions. No (well, at least no published) author writes truly alone, as there will always be colleagues and editors helping them along the way. This, among many reasons, is why I reject the idea of the genius author creating masterpieces in their high and mighty isolation. Writing belongs to everyone. And if flourishes with successful collaboration.

I've both a Candidate's and a Master's Degree in writing from the University of Jyväskylä, and in my pedagogical studies I focused on teaching adults. Currently I teach creative writing and written communication at the Universtiy of Jyväskylä. I've also been a member of Rapina ry for years, and part of the public relations and communications duo there for two years as a graphic designer and as the person taking care of the website. I'm deeply interested in eventually running international writing courses online, and although my first language is Finnish, English poses no problem to me at all.
